You're gone

All alone in an empty life
Nothing is interesting when there’s no one to share it with
Coming home bursting to share something new, but there’s no one to listen
Disappointment overwhelms

It feels as though I’ve been cut in half
I walk into a room already speaking to you and find nothing but stillness
The book you were reading is still open on the table by your chair
Now you’ll never know how it ends
Was it happy ever after
Is there such a thing

Maybe you already knew how it ended
Did you peak at the last page
You liked to do that to see if it was worth reading
How different we were
How alike

What a beautiful, painful poem.

Namaste.

Hello KevCC, great to meet you... can I presume you have recently lost someone very close to you? If so, I am very sorry for your loss. It's good medicine to write and I would love to read more stay in touch.

By the way, is your name Kevin? I am a woman and my name is Kevin... just an observation.

Take care... kkalmes

Thanks for your comment. I admit I've never met a female Kevin until now. Pleased to meet you.
